Janitorial Lead - Job Support

Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a Janitorial Crew Lead to support a local non-profit organization.

This role is instrumental in maintaining a clean and healthy environment for our community. The Janitorial Crew Lead will provide leadership and guidance to our cleaning teams, ensuring that our facilities meet the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Provide leadership and coaching to team members, overseeing all cleaning duties as required.

Client Engagement: Foster positive relationships with clients and ensure the quality of service meets or exceeds contract expectations.

Community Outreach: Identify opportunities to expand services to underserved populations as determined by the organization's mission.

Custodial Expertise: Demonstrate professional knowledge of custodial and janitorial tasks required for non-profit facilities.

Task Management: Prioritize projects, assign tasks effectively, enhance team members' skills, and provide constructive feedback.

Training: Develop on-the-job training plans and goals, offering support and encouragement to improve team members' skills.

Team Collaboration: Promote a positive teamwork environment, maintaining a cooperative attitude, and collaborating effectively with colleagues.

Secondary Functions:

Maintain professional public relations on behalf of the non-profit organization.

Ensure sufficient staffing to fulfill cleaning contracts.

Perform daily cleaning duties and provide direct service as required.

Fulfill other related duties as assigned.

Job Scope:

Operate independently with minimal supervision, adhering to established procedures.

Make decisions within the framework of the organization's policies and guidelines.

Understand and manage departmental budgets while ensuring compliance.

May contribute input on long-term operational planning for the non-profit organization.

Errors or mistakes in this role may impact the organization's reputation and its ability to serve the community effectively.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manage and provide daily work direction to janitorial staff and associates working within the non-profit organization.

Approve absences, make recommendations regarding compensation changes, and provide necessary training to maintain industry standards and safety protocols.

Specific Job Skill Requirements:

Previous Janitorial Experience

Previous managerial experience

Ability to develop new cleaning contracts and prepare competitive bids for quality work.

Strong supervisory and communication skills for building a productive team.

Capacity to make sound decisions to support the non-profit organization's mission.

Active participation in team development and fostering a team-oriented environment.

Basic knowledge of technology and computer hardware/software for communication, outreach, budgeting, etc.

Physical ability to perform various cleaning tasks, including bending, twisting, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, and reaching overhead.
