A summary of the responsibilities include:
Receive raw materials delivered by rail car including switching out the rail cars. Check car tagging for product reliability, transfers the materials into the bulk system, and changes out material from bag houses.
Monitor, document levels, and stock silos, day bins, and load outs in the bulk system.
Verify bulk system is full prior to shift change.
Key contact for updating on-coming shift about the status of material received late during a shift.
Monitor and change out oil absorbents booms and sump drainage basin filter media.
Monitor and clean secondary containment areas.
Monitor well flow and documents monitoring tasks.
Maintain clean and orderly spaces by sweeping, vacuuming, blowing, and/or pressure washing the mix stands, unloading area, bulk rooms, boiler rooms, and utility rooms, as well as monitoring and maintaining cleaning equipment.
Working Environment Overview
This role is assigned to work three 12-hour shifts and one 6-hour shift per work week OR working a Monday-Friday 8-hour shift, depending on the needs of the Maintenance/Ancillary team. Actual work schedules will vary week by week.
Spend the majority of time on their feet, and occasionally may be required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. The work requires the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, as well as reaching and finger dexterity. Must regularly lift up to 30 pounds, frequently lift up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The job may require working near moving mechanical parts. Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, heat, and are occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals in the plant environment.
Requires the willingness and ability to wear a half-face respirator as needed, which requires shaving facial hair before reporting to work. Requires wearing eye and hearing protection at all times while working.
Minimum Qualifications
Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Ability to communicate effectively in English, including following verbal and written direction.
Ability to read and interpret a wide variety of written documents.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal multiple variables when only limited standardization exists.
Ability to maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Forklift experience.
Basic computer skills (email, word processing).
