POSITION SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for ensuring that parts meet all tolerances, specs, mechanical properties, as well as documenting all non-conforming features and characteristics. The appropriate candidate will need to be able to work with minimal supervision, will interact on a daily basis with quality, production, and machine shop personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned.
Inspect parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies to drawings and prints.
Initiates non-conformance reports on all parts and assemblies that are not to drawing or print specifications.
Ability to read and interpret material certs and heat treat / mechanical certs
Completes, inspects and distributes quality records and documents.
Performs related duties as needed by supervision.

Maintains safe operations by keeping work area clean and organized and by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; initiating repair work orders.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Documents actions by completing required paper etc.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications, etc.
Participate in required meetings and training.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED);
2+ years related experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Ability to interpret complex drawings and prints.
Strong documentation and communication skills
Knowledge of advance inspection tools, including: Roundness Tester, Optical Comparator, Surface Plates, Profilometer, etc.
Ability to operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Intermediate computer skills preferred.
Experience with MS Excel is desired.
Previous Machine Shop In-process Inspection
Experience working in an AS9100 certified organization
CMM Programing knowledge (Camio, CMM Manager preferred).
Experience completing AS9102 forms.
MATHEMATICAL, COMPUTER & LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Proficient in shop math (able to apply geometry, trigonometry and calculus to solve work-related problems) and Must also be proficient in the use of a variety of standard inspection equipment such as micrometers, dial bore gauges, use of sine plates and indicators
Must be able to use personal computer to access and retrieve information
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
