Our New Partnership
Kokua Cats has partnered with the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence (CARDV), one of the most trusted and vital resources for survivors in our region. Together, we are launching Until They’re Home, a program that ensures survivors entering CARDV’s emergency shelter never have to choose between their own safety and the safety of their beloved pets.
Seeking Fosters
We urgently need fosters willing to provide safe, temporary homes for cats while survivors stay at CARDV. Most placements last about two weeks, matching CARDV’s emergency shelter stay, though longer-term fostering opportunities are also available.
Why This Is Needed
For many survivors, fear for their pet’s safety is a heartbreaking barrier to leaving abuse. Some even remain in dangerous situations to protect their cats. By fostering, you directly support CARDV’s mission by removing that barrier. You give survivors peace of mind, allowing them to enter shelter and begin healing while knowing their cats are safe and cared for.
What We Provide
Kokua Cats supplies everything a foster needs: food, litter, carriers, toys, blankets, enrichment items, and veterinary care. With CARDV as our partner, there is additional assurance that veterinary care and essential supplies are always covered. Fosters never pay out of pocket—between Kokua Cats and CARDV, all needs are met.
