Albany First Christian Church is seeking a part-time Choir Director. The Choir Director reports to the Senior Pastor and is responsible for the planning, development, recruitment, and implementation of the church’s choral music program. The essential component of this program is the provision of choral and special music for Sunday morning worship and special services.
Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
1. Work as a team with pastors, pianist, and other musicians and worship planners to provide anthems and special music for worship services and special events and services.
2. Direct the Chancel Choir during nine months of the year (from September to early June).
-Select choral anthems and responses
-Plan and conduct the weekly choir rehearsals
-Perform between 2 – 3 times/ month
-Direct the choir during Sunday morning worship and occasional special services
Average hours per week: 6-8 hours
This position is a 9-month position.
$500/month
Due to the hiatus caused by the pandemic, it is possible this job could start before September.
