PRIMARY PURPOSE
Responsible for customer service and limited warehouse duties for the company, focusing on residential customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Relations
Positively interact with customers, welcoming and greeting them in the store and on the phone in a warm and friendly manner. Courteous, helpful, and competent answering of customer's questions and calm response to any customer complaints that may arise.
Ordering and Billing
Accurate measuring & estimating for residential projects. Prompt and accurate collection of deposits, ordering of materials, invoicing, receiving payment, and receipting for completed work that is paid in full. Fully resolve any ordering and billing discrepancies that may arise.
Supplier Relations
Positive interaction with residential suppliers and sales reps with accurate and timely ordering of materials, receiving materials, and matching invoices with packing lists. A commitment to stay current with the latest product and/or pricing developments that may benefit customers.
Store Responsibilities
Knowing how to open and close the store and operate cash register accurately, knowing how to turn on and off the alarm without incident, ensuring that the store's retail areas are clean, uncluttered, and inviting to the customer, both inside and outside the building. Effective management and utilization of residential glass inventory.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interact with the owners and other employees in a positive and professional manner. Dress and represent to the public in words and actions in a positive and professional manner, both in the store or as a representative at functions outside the store.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Typically requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Requires three (3) years of construction experience and basic math and computer skills. Must be able to communicate well, and speak, read, and write English legibly. 'Team player' qualities are essential for this position. Important to present a professional appearance at all times. Must have and maintain a valid drivers license maintaining insurability by company insurance carrier for driving company vehicles. Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry products (20-50lbs).
