Position Title: CTL & Heavy Equipment Operator
Location: Western Oregon (Philomath/Corvallis)
Compensation: $20-30/hr DOE + work vehicle and extended driving stipend as needed
Duration: Full-time, with seasonal overtime

Finster Forestry LLC aims to serve private landowners with excellence and integrity in their forest and land management needs.
Ideally we are on the hunt for an operator with CTL harvester experience, but will consider others with forwarder experience too. The majority of our work is within 1 hour of Corvallis with occasional further travel. Seasonally we fill in with forestry work as needed to maintain a working schedule.
The CTL & Heavy Equipment Operator will assist in logging, clearing, fuel reduction, and restoration projects. This position will be field-based with projects predominantly located in Western Oregon. Immediate and major focus will be operating within a cut-to-length thinning operation, with additional shovel, excavator and dozer operation, as well as occasional chainsaw use.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Forwarder operation
- Harvester operation
- Log loader operation
- Chainsaw use
- Operating heavy equipment
- Fire watch
- Minor mechanical work & maintenance
- General forest management tasks (marking units & trees, measuring tree plots, etc)
Minimum Qualifications
Age 18+
Ability to adhere to safe working procedures
Willingness to communicate and work in teams
Insurable driving record with valid driver’s license
Commercial thinning experience
Preferred Qualifications
Heavy equipment operation & maintenance experience
Forestry knowledge
Cut-To-Length system experience
