The next Burns City Manager will be an established leader of people and projects with a positive, collaborative approach to problem-solving and issue resolution. A strong background in municipal government is imperative, including the ability to evaluate the needs of a vibrant community to achieve optimum services for residents and business owners. Skills and abilities must include:
ï§ Relationship building and collaboration with local businesses and regional partners. Advocate for and promote the City of Burns.
ï§ Sound fiscal management and oversight capabilities including strong working knowledge of principles of budgeting and accounting in a limited resource environment.
ï§ Ability to manage for the productivity of employed staff and contracted services, including experience with labor negotiations.
ï§ Grant writing, fund development and/or other experience sourcing operating and special project capital.
ï§ Strong written, verbal and technical communication skills.
ï§ Skilled in bringing effective partnerships together to plan and accomplish community development goals.
ï§ Background enabling the administration of city cemetery and airport operations.
ï§ Ongoing evaluation and strategic planning to implement and maintain a strong infrastructure.
