Mid-Columbia Bus Company in need of an Experienced Diesel Mechanic!
- Job duties are as follows but not limited to:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all vehicles as outlined in the company Maintenance Manual.
- Perform a scheduled annual on all vehicles for maintenance as outlined in the company Maintenance Manual.
- Observes and/or listens to vehicle's operation and sounds to trouble shoot the cause and location of the trouble and its necessary repair.
- Dismantles engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical systems and devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, including installing any special functional and/or structural devices.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments to be in conformance to applicable specifications or standards.
- Starts vehicle, device or control to test and ensure proper performance.
- Perform oil changes, lubes, inspections of buses tire conditions and inflation, fluid levels and belt conditions during routine scheduled maintenance.
- Examines protective guards, loose bolts and specified safety devices on buses and make any adjustments.
- Clean parts and engines with approved and required solvents or steam cleaners.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, tools and equipment and maintain the area, tools and equipment in a proper manner to ensure work area and employee safety.
- Be / become knowledgeable of the minimum Federal and State standards for all school buses and maintain all school transportation vehicles within those standards.
