Job Title: After-school Program Support Staff
The Village School is K-8 public charter school using arts-integrated, holistic methods and curriculum based on the Waldorf education.
Village Care is the after-school program offered at the Village School. We offer children an afternoon which includes a healthy snack, homework support, energetic play, relaxed play and various arts activities. Village Care is looking for an individual to join our staff in supporting, nurturing and caring for children. The position runs from the present to the end of the school year with the possibility of a continued position for the 2019-2020 school year.
Qualifications:
Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with children, co-workers, parents and school staff.
Previous experience working with multi-age groups of children and ability to create activities plan.
Ability to manage small and large groups of children, ages K-6.
Familiarity with Waldorf principles required, experience with Waldorf teaching preferred.
Certified Food Handlers Card, CPR/First Aid: or willing to obtain prior to hire date.
Ability to move quickly over all terrain, and lift 40 lbs.
Background check required
Wage: $10.89 to $12.21/hr. DOE Work Year: Sept-June
Work Days: M-F Hours: 2:30pm - 6:15pm
