Job Summary:
Line cooks are responsible for cooking required tickets while maintaining Hop Valley standards of presentation and cleanliness. Must maintain productive communication with front of house and back of the house staff, generating daily specials, putting away orders, and handling food according to our protocols while maintaining proper food safety. Must be willing to fill in and cover areas when needed, including but not limited to assistance in the dish pit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up and stock food items and other necessary supplies.
Prepare food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces/dishes.
Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
Perform inventory checks and complete food storage check.
Work with servers to ensure that orders are completed on time and according to requests
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
Experience with various cooking methods and procedures
Familiar with industry best practices
Oregon Food Handler Card
