Grade B21: $20.74- $29.04/ hour
Grade B22: $23.13- $32.38/ hour
Pay dependent on qualifications and in accordance with Oregon's Pay Equity Act.

Position Overview:
The City of Springfield is looking for a detail-oriented Administrative Specialist to join our Engineering Team. This position assists the Contract Analyst with performing duties within the Engineering Division’s Contracts Program by tracking privately and publicly engineered construction projects. This position reports to the Capital Engineering Program Manager and takes direction from the Contract Analyst.
Though helpful to have, previous engineering experience is not required. The Engineering Division is committed to training an administrative professional who can grow and contribute to the team.
Summary of Essential Duties:
Provides direct administrative and secretarial support to the Engineering Team
Provides customer and vendor assistance in person and through written correspondence
Tracks progress of payments and assists with contract administration
Monitors submittals
Prepares and reviews various documents
Maintains various reports, records, and summaries
Recordkeeping duties
Performs related duties as assigned

Training & Experience:
The City will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications. Such a way to meet minimum qualifications could include:
Associate degree or two-year technical certification in the field of business administration, or a closely related field, and;
1-2 years of experience in administrative support (Administrative Specialist I)
3-5 years of experience in advanced administrative support and specialized customer service including maintaining contracts and records (Administrative Specialist II)
Preferences may be given for knowledge and experience:
Previous experience providing administrative support to an engineering office
Contract bidding, submittal processing
Public sector experience
