Pay dependent on qualifications and in accordance with Oregon's Pay Equity Act.

Position Overview:
The City of Springfield is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor I/II to be responsible for advancing the regional wastewater program’s NPDES discharge permit compliance strategies, innovating process and program improvements, developing and leveraging effective partnerships, generating support and funding initiatives for programs, collaborating with regional, state, and national colleagues, organizations, and agencies to promote feasible and beneficial policies, and providing energetic leadership and oversight of the MWMC’s Planning and Policy Support work group. The Environmental Services Supervisor represents the City of Springfield and MWMC in a variety of dynamic forums and furthers the organizational mission, vision, and goals through proactive communication, engagement, creativity, and teamwork.
Training & Experience:
The City will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications. Such a way to meet minimum qualifications could include:
Associate’s degree or two- year technical certificate in environmental services, science, or studies, public policy and planning, environmental law, sustainable business management, or related field, and 3-5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, program management and/or planning, public speaking and communications, and project and contract budgeting and management. Bachelor’s degree in environmental services, science, or studies, public policy and planning, environmental law, sustainable business management, or related field, and 3-5 years of experience necessary for the Supervisor I level plus specific programmatic knowledge to complete complex projects, making programmatic changes based on regulatory requirements, and innovating and initiating strategic solutions to regulatory or programmatic needs. (C45: Supervisor II)
A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience is required
The Supervisor II is normally filled by advancement from the Supervisor I. When filled from the outside, the Supervisor II requires several years of prior experience performing at a level with full range of positional duties with minimal oversight and having appreciable latitude for unreviewed actions and decisions.
License &Certifications:
Oregon Driver’s license by time of appointment
