LCOG has an opening for a Senior Meals Roving Back-Up Site Coordinator position in the Senior & Disability Services (S&DS)’s Senior Meals Program. This position will provide back-up coverage at all Senior Meal Sites in Lane County. This position will work 0 – 19 hours per week Monday - Friday. Varies based on coverage need. More than one position may be filled by this recruitment. Wage: $16.04 – $21.86 per hour.
This position is designed for short-term and/or long-term substitution for Site Coordinators at all Senior Meal Sites. Under the supervision of the Senior Meals Unit Manager, the Roving Back-Up Site Coordinator is a member of the team of staff who creates a positive working environment for volunteers assisting with food service in the Café 60, the portioning and delivery of Meals on Wheels, and contributing to a friendly companionable atmosphere for the participants and volunteers.
Duties include: training, scheduling, and working with 15-30 volunteers per week serving lunch to between 5-150 older adults (depending on site) in the Café 60 dining room and packaging/delivering between 5-200 Meals on Wheels (depending on site); creating a welcoming atmosphere in the Café 60 dining room; maintaining required client records and depositing donations; preparing food orders and delivery instructions; promoting participation of new people; assisting food service staff and volunteers in organizing the kitchen, portioning food, serving meals, and clean up; delivering meals in an emergency; and assisting other staff and volunteers as needed.
