Certified Medical Assistant Medication Technician

Will have experience with Willamette Family primary shift medication dispenser systems and protocol for inventory, maintaining, and ordering residents prescription medication. Also have 2 years' experience working with support staff demonstrating an ability to focus and work accurately. We are looking for a candidate with a great attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and solid prior experience dispensing medications. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, strong at multi-tasking and dedicated to high quality patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certification in an accredited medical assisting program in good standing
Certification in BLS for Healthcare Providers
Minimum of one-year experience in Primary Care
Understanding of behavior health issues
Ability to effectively multi task.
Must have a valid Oregon Driver's License.
Must pass a required criminal records background check.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be cross trained with other department positions. Duties may include performing functions of other positions on any given work day.
Log and document incoming medication for new and existing clients
Work with outside practices to maintain current orders from physicians
Observe dispensing and administration of client medications under Willamette Family protocol
Work closely with Willamette Family Medical clinic to oversee medical care needed by new and existing clients.
Manage medication refill needs of clients to ensure their medication is in house when needed
Assist clients with triage of medical needs
Fax and log prescriptions to pharmacy.
Coordinate delivery and pickup of medications with pharmacies
Make changes in client medication logs per doctors' orders
Communicate the prescription of narcotic medications to counselors for proper staffing protocol
Assist and refer complicated client questions
Be familiar with policies and procedures

Knowledge, skills and abilities demonstrating competence through experience or education in the following essential job functions:
Communicate any drug interaction concerns to RAC physician and/or client's primary counselor
Comply with "The 5 Rights of Medications" every time when allowing access to meds for clients
Knowledge and understanding of substance addiction as a progressive disease
Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow oral and written directions and to apply techniques for special needs.
Knowledge of de-escalation methods.
Flexibility in responding to changing needs and requirements.
Ability to work in an environment where people may be verbally hostile and/or abusive.
Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
Ability to maintain accurate records and necessary paperwork
Knowledge and understanding of basic math skills.
Knowledge of community resources
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
