Care and support for 19-year-old with severe neurological condition (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis aka severe ME/CFS), who is recovering from neurosurgeries.
Condition excludes most physical exertion. You may need to gently assist with any movement needed.
Caregiver must work to limit: noise, light, scents (lotions, hair products), animated actions, and unnecessary speaking. A quiet, calm, caring demeanor is required at all times.
Duties include:
-help moving between bed, toilet (or bedside commode if especially weak some day) and chair
-preparing and serving meals, with guidance from family
-assisting with dressing and bathing (functionality can vary day to day )
-laundry for person
-tidying kitchen, dishes, sweeping
-helping with damp dusting in person’s room
-changing sheets
Basic hours needed are M, Tu, W, F from 10-3, but we could discuss more hours (or splitting between two people).
Need someone reliable, patient, LGBTQ friendly, COVID vaccinated, and willing to mask in home. Income will be reported. Preference for candidates with experience giving assistance with transfers and/or people who are strong and willing to learn.
Household includes black lab dog.
