Kintigh Nursery is a 4th generation tree farm founded in 1957. As winners of Both the National Christmas Tree and National Forestry awards, we have always grown the highest quality Christmas trees, Seedlings and Timber.
We are currently hiring more crewmen. This position entails trimming Christmas trees, harvesting Christmas trees, planting and packaging conifer seedlings, equipment operation, and many other small jobs. This job requires working outside in all weather conditions, but we also spend time working in the barn and greenhouses in the winter.
Equipment operation experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
The main nursery is a few miles east of Springfield, but we also have sites at other locations near Vida, Cottage Grove, and Camp Creek that we spend a limited amount of time at. Generally we will take the company vehicles to these locations. You may choose to drive your own vehicle if preferred.
The physical nature of the job varies greatly from season to season, from moderate to very physical. We do a lot of lifting, carrying, walking and standing. This is a job for someone who enjoys being outside and active, with seasonal variety.
There are promotion opportunities available, annual raises, and some paid holidays. After 60 days you will be eligible for health insurance.
