Fuel & Lube Technician

Performing routine fueling, service and lubrication on all heavy equipment in Delta’s yard.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Inspect all equipment and report any necessary repairs or damage to mechanic shop.

Lubricate and Service all types of gas and diesel equipment including but not limited to: Bulldozers, Cat trucks, dump trucks, trailers, etc.

Test all work performed and ensure that the work meets specifications and regulations.

Prepare service reports and work orders in an accurate, legible and timely manner.

Perform safety inspections.

Keep shop tools and equipment safe, clean and organized and in good working order.

Report any safety concerns immediately

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be 18 years of age or older

High school diploma or equivalent is required, with applicable technical, vocational, or trade school work preferred.

Pre-employment screening requirement: pass a pre-employment drug screen

5 years' minimum experience as a lube and service technician, preferred.

Current and valid Oregon Commercial Driver's License Class “B” (CDL). Not required upon hire, but will need to be acquired on a timeline provided.

Skills in basic trouble shooting are essential.

Ability to read specifications, such as schematics, to determine requirements or to plan procedures.

Inspect work progress, equipment, and needs to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met.

Must be able to work alone and with others.

Must have a complete set of mechanic tools, adequate for performing duties.

Be able to work overtime, including some Saturdays.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to lift, push and pull up to #65lbs, bend, and stoop, squat, kneel, reach, grip, climb etc.

Occasionally drive a company-provided vehicle.

Some long hours and weekend work may be required.

Position will be exposed to various weather conditions, rain, sleet, snow, wind heat and cold.

Jobs are performed in both inside and outside environments with close proximity to traffic, heavy construction equipment and hazardous construction, which may include high spaces.
