We're a thriving commercial cannabis nursery with a lively, close-knit crew - a member of our clone room team is moving away in 4 weeks, and we're looking for the right person to fill his shoes. Short and enjoyable 20-25 minute commute from Eugene-Springfield with plenty of opportunity for carpooling.
Starting pay is $14. There is a one month probationary period. If you perform well, you will be offered $15 per hour within the month, and reliable, year-round work, with possible pay increases beyond $15 and occasional overtime opportunities. Five days of paid time off per year plus 401K with employer contributions. Normal work hours are 8 to 4:30, with occasional 7:30 arrival required on big order days. You may be asked to work one or both weekend days on a regular basis.
This position involves working in our indoor clone room sorting rooted clones and preparing orders. The work can be fast paced and hectic at times, and requires a combination of speed and efficiency while maintaining a very high standard of quality and organization. A prior background in math and science is preferred, and a thorough understanding of Excel and Google Sheets is mandatory. No prior agriculture or cannabis experience is necessary.
You will be expected to learn in a short amount of time, how to:
Quickly and accurately assess and sort clones for maturity and quality
Track and prepare orders, balancing timing of the order vs. growth status of the clones
Effectively manage your workload in a hectic, time-pressured environment
Use creativity to fill orders and mitigate unexpected problems (puzzle-solving skills)
Use our complicated (and sometimes aggravating) spreadsheet-based inventory system
Care for rooting clones per our established protocols
Necessary personal characteristics are:
Ability to do "mental math" and keep numbers straight in your head
Speed and attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination
Ability to stay focused and clear-headed, without "spacing out" while working
Absolutely NO use of any mind-altering substance during work hours, including Kratom, etc.
Strong work ethic, punctual and professional, emotionally mature
Ability to take direction and corrective feedback, while maintaining a good attitude
Available 5 days a week (including weekends) plus occasional overtime (we do pay time and a half for this)
Physically fit and able to routinely lift 50 pounds, and the ability to stand all day
21+ years old and qualified for OLCC worker permit (don't need to have one now)
