Position Overview:
As a Steel Erector, you will play a crucial role in the steel erection process by assembling and installing structural steel components on construction sites. You will work closely with project managers and field crews to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Erect steel structures, including assembling and installing steel beams, columns, and other components.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to review project plans and specifications, providing input on project logistics and scheduling.
- Monitor project progress and assist in resolving any challenges to ensure the project stays on track.
- Work as part of a field crew, ensuring high-quality workmanship and efficiency in all aspects of the erection process.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and conduct site inspections to promote a safe work environment.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, timesheets, and incident reports.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in steel erection or a similar construction role.
- Strong knowledge of steel erection techniques, safety practices, and relevant regulations.
- Ability to work effectively with others, including project managers, engineers, and field crews.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions on-site as needed.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and at heights.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in steel erection or a related field.
