Performance Expectations
Essential Job Duties:
The position of General Shop Assistant will perform general duties; to include, but not limited to: wash fleet trucks, perform general yard cleanup / maintenance, clean machinery and equipment and light handyman work. Must have the ability to work Saturdays.
Essential Functions
General maintenance as required around the Shop (e.g., weeding, cleanup, etc.)
Wash the Fleet’s Trucks as needed.
Parts Chaser
Performing light handyman jobs (e.g., carpentry, furniture assembly, painting, etc.)
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Report any observed maintenance/mechanical problems with company trucks to supervisor.
Fuel trucks
Assist tire shop with duties
Competencies
Strong hands-on skills.
Ability to work independently, unsupervised, and accomplish tasks assigned.
Good communication skills
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required
Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years of age
Have valid Driver’s License
Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Must pass pre-employment drug test / and random testing
Have good stable and verifiable work history
Be able to fulfill the physical demands of the job
Demonstrated ability to learn, and grow in position
Strong work ethics
Must speak English
Dependable attendance
Physical Requirements
Ability to drive a delivery vehicle legally.
Clean Driving record – Valid Oregon Driver’s License - 18 years or older
Ability to sit for long periods of time while driving to make deliveries.
Ability to frequently lift, carry, otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 45 pounds when picking inventory for delivery, making delivery or stocking product.
Ability to bend, stoop and crouch on a regular basis to pick inventory for delivery, making delivery or stock product.
