Our well-established five-attorney law firm is seeking a new Associate to join our growing Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain significant experience in a dynamic and supportive environment that promotes personal development and community involvement.

About the Role: The Associate Attorney will handle all aspects of estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters, including client conferences, drafting and filing pleadings, and preparing estate planning documents. Position will also involve cross-training in business law matters. The right candidate will be trained and mentored, with the goal of working independently on individual matters while fitting into a strong and collaborative team of legal professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Meet with and advise clients on estate planning strategies, wealth transfer, and tax implications.

Draft and finalize estate planning documents, including Wills, Trusts, Health Care Directives, and Financial Powers of Attorney.

Provide legal services to our Estate Administration clients to advise on probate and trust administration cases.

Communicate directly with current and potential clients in a respectful and professional manner.

Manage all open cases from beginning to end, utilizing the firm’s electronic client database system.

Conduct legal research and problem-solving.

Requirements:

At least 2 years of related experience is required (including legal education and practical skills opportunities). Newly graduated attorneys must be able to demonstrate a strong interest in estate planning and administration.

Excellent communication (written and oral), negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.

Familiarity with Word and Outlook.

Professional, positive appearance and attitude.

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Admission to the Oregon State Bar (we will not consider attorneys not licensed in Oregon).

Position Details:

Type: Full-time, in office.

Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000 per year, depending on skill level and experience.

Benefits: Health insurance, PTO, and IRA with up to 3% match for qualifying candidates, annual bar dues, professional liability insurance, and continuing education.
