Job Summary

Nina Moon Law is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to join our team. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative support to the attorney, assist with case management tasks, and ensure the smooth operation of the firm's legal processes. The ideal candidate is organized, diligent, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

This is a part-time onsite position with paid time off and paid sick leave.

After a probationary period health, dental, and vision insurance will be offered & a the ability to work hybrid remote/in office.

Job Responsibilities:

· Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, scanning documents, establishing and maintaining case files etc.

· Provide administrative support to lawyer

· Communicate with clients, witnesses and other parties to schedule appointments and gather information

· Prepare correspondence and other written communication

· Assist with billing and invoicing for state reimbursable expenses

· Maintains and monitors attorney’s calendar including scheduling client meetings and home visits

· Summarize discovery records

· Assist attorney with drafting legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas and efile court documents

· Obtain necessary documentation such as medical records, police reports and treatment records

· Protects the office and clients by keeping confidential information

Qualifications and Skills

· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred

· Previous experience working in a related administrative role required

· Ability to work professionally with clients from all different backgrounds and walks of life.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills

· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is a plus

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
