Reinhard Law is seeking an experienced part-time legal assistant to help with a variety of legal tasks. This role is a combination of secretarial, paralegal and support staff duties. The ideal candidate should be a self-directed, efficient professional with strong writing and communication skills and impeccable judgment. This is a new role; Reinhard Law is a full service criminal defense term with an experienced lawyer who presently has zero (0) dedicated support staff, so it will require plenty of adaptability and patience.
Minimum Requirements
- Substantial experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary or work as a support staffer in an equivalent field (banking, real estate, government.)
- Type 60 words+ per minute.
- Strong computer skills and comfortable with learning new web-based programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word/Excel.
- Unflappable multitasker.
- Judicious time-manager.
- Discretion and dedication to preserving client confidentiality and the full presumption of innocence.
- Good with the spelling and the grammar.
- Devotion to accuracy.
- Mind reader.
- Sense of humor.
Essential Functions
- Use Reinhard Law’s case management software to accurately enter data, track client files, generate letters, import documents, confirm and input court dates, and track paper files.
- Navigate OECI (Oregon eCourt Information Network) interface and Odyssey e-filing system.
- Compose and prepare letters and pleadings, and refine letters and motions already written by the attorney.
- Assist with calendaring, scheduling appointments for clients, setting court dates and following up with court and prosecutor support staff.
- Preparing, filing and following up with State funding requests on indigent client cases.

Pay range is $20 to $26 an hour, depending on experience. The ideal candidate should be available to start work in mid to late November if possible. Because this is a part-time position, no benefits will be initially provided. However, there is a strong possibility of this role developing to full-time work (with benefits) within the next 6 months to 2 years as Reinhard Law grows.
