Fine Art Gallery in Eugene, Oregon seeks a part-time Gallery Assistant
Candidates should be outgoing with good communication skills, organized, and dependable individuals with retail sales experience and knowledgeable about art.
This Gallery Assistant would support Director with art sales, client follow up, web and social media posting, and keeping the gallery clean and organized. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday, noon to 5:30 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm. Initial schedule is Thursdays and Fridays, First Friday ArtWalk evenings to 8 pm, and occasional weekend hours when changing shows. Part time position (12+ hours a week) with possibility of increasing hours and responsibility.
Required:
Computer proficient/ability to update website and social media posts Office Suite
Retail sales and customer service background
Great communication skills
Strong knowledge of art (studio art background, art history, and/or arts administration), the ability to talk about art

Karin Clarke Gallery opened in 2002 in downtown Eugene with a focus on 20th century Northwest artists. The gallery represents established regional artist and artist estates. In addition, it is home to the Eugene Biennial juried show, which happens every-other August coordinating with the city of Eugene's Visual Arts Festival.
The gallery's exhibitions change monthly. The shows range from curated solo exhibits to group shows. The role of the gallery has been to enable and promote a regional artistic vision and be a welcoming and inspiring gallery serving a diverse community.
