About the Job
We have an opening for a Crisis Support Specialist. This position requires that applicants have the ability to work as a member of a direct care team serving adults with serious mental illness; to support the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions; and keep accurate clinical documentation. In addition, you will receive crisis de-escalation training, which requires performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques. If you have experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Residential Assistant (RA), Residential Counselor, Skills Trainer, or Caregiving for a client suffering with mental illness (e.g. memory care unit at an Assisted Living Facility), then this position might be a good fit for you.
Work Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours per week), 8 hour shifts FLOAT schedule
What You’ll Make
Starting at $17.50+ per hour DOE/Credentials. An additional $1.50 per hour graveyard shift differential will apply during the work hours of 10:00pm - 6:00am.
About the Program
Hourglass Community Crisis Center is a program designed to provide 24/7 support to individuals who suffer from mental illness. This Crisis Center will be available 24/7 to accept individuals referred by law enforcement, community providers and individuals themselves for mental health crisis assessment, stabilization, and active linkages to community providers for same-day or next-day follow-up support services.
What You’ll Need
1 out of 3 Criteria below:
Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science: Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Human Development;
OR minimum three (3) years of verifiable mental health experience working with individuals living with a serious mental illness in a supervised social service setting;
OR equivalent combination of behavioral science education in addition to satisfactory supplemental mental health experience and training
Successful applicants MUST have a valid Oregon driver’s license, maintain a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check
