Do you love animals and want to make a difference while making extra money? Apply for this exciting opportunity to do just that! We are a non-profit animal rescue transport organization. We rescue dogs and cats from partner organizations in Southern California and transport them by bus to rescue partners in Oregon and Washington.

We are currently hiring for the position of North Route Kennel Assistant. This position is responsible for monitoring and providing care for up to 100 animals in crates on our rescue bus from Eugene, Oregon up I5 to Arlington, Washington. The bus leaves Eugene at approximately 11pm on Saturday and returns at approximately noon the following day. The trips take place every other weekend on average.

Qualifications:

In addition to having a love for animals, the ability to communicate effectively via telephone call, email, social media, and text message are required. Qualified candidates must be comfortable with animals, work cooperatively under stress with rescues, south route kennel assistants, bus drivers, and management. Safety is our top priority and all applicants will be required to pass a background check and drug test.

Duties:

This position processes transport requests through email and also communicates via text, telephone, and social media with rescue partners in California, Oregon, and Washington regarding planned pickups and dropoffs. During transport trips approximately every other weekend, the kennel assistant is responsible for monitoring the animals throughout the drive from Eugene to Arlington. They must also be able to sit for long periods of time, lift 50 lbs repeatedly, work hands-on with dogs and cats, be able to function well under stress while traveling overnight, and be tolerable of animal dander exposure and noise.

Compensation:

DOE and will be discussed/determined during the interview process.
