Oregon Social Learning Center and OSLC Developments are seeking a skilled Editorial Assistant to provide comprehensive support to our Principal Investigator (PI) and grant staff. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of multiple research projects by managing editorial and administrative tasks with precision and efficiency. Key responsibilities include editing manuscripts, coordinating meetings and phone conferences, conducting library and Internet research, and maintaining organized filing systems. You will collaborate closely with PIs and project teams to prepare grant submissions, research papers, presentations, and other materials, applying expertise in citation styles (APA, AMA, Chicago, Harvard, and more) to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
This position requires strong independent judgment, the ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision, and a high level of discretion when handling sensitive information. Requirements:
BA/BS degree with coursework appropriate to the position and 3-years related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience appropriate to the position.
Strong skills regarding English grammar
Competency with APA style and other journal-specific guidelines. Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Adobe.
Strong editing skills and experience editing technical and/or academic documents.
Competency in Endnote or other reference-tracking software preferred.
Experience in submitting federal grant proposals preferred.

Your day-to-day:
Assists PIs and Co-Is with preparing, editing, and organizing grant proposals, academic journal articles, reports, and other materials.
Supports the development/creation of assessment tools, presentations, newsletters, brochures, and other documents using software like Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Cayuse.
Edits manuscripts and documents for style, grammar, and adherence to specific formats (e.g., APA, AMA, Chicago Style) and manages manuscript submission processes, including permission requests and references.
Maintains and updates vita, bio-sketch materials, and publication records for PIs and Co-Is; organizes and tracks reference libraries using tools like EndNote.
Conducts library/Internet research
Tracks manuscript status and correspondence; organizes and maintains filing systems.
Coordinates meetings, conference trips, schedules, expense filing, and takes meeting minutes as needed.
