ABOUT THE DINING ROOM: FOOD For Lane County’s Dining Room is a restaurant-style meal site in downtown Eugene serving over 200 free meals a day to low-or-no income individuals and families. The Dining Room’s volunteers and staff provide table side service and a welcoming, judgment-free environment for guests to enjoy a meal.
SUMMARY OF POSITIONS: The Safety and Hospitality Coordinator and Assistant work to ensure the safety of guests, employees, and volunteers. Their main objective is to support a safe and respectful dining atmosphere. These positions work directly with some individuals dealing with addiction, diverse mental health issues, and trauma. These roles combine security oversight with hospitality, focusing particularly on crowd control, trauma-informed care, and de-escalation techniques. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to creating a supportive environment while effectively managing security concerns.
