We are looking for an Independent Contracted Hair Stylist to style and cut hair for our residents approximately five days a week. In addition, with a flexible on-call schedule, you unleash your creativity in our welcoming on-site salon. Stylist would be responsible for renting our lovely salon, creating your own service menu, and developing your own fee schedule a reasonable fee for the clientele in our community.
Ya-Po-Ah Terrace is a Section 8/202, Senior Only, 62+, Housing Project, with a total of 222 units.
Ya-Po-Ah Terrace is located at 350 Pearl Street, Eugene, OR. Our three- and one-half acres are situated at the base of historic and scenic Skinner’s Butte.

Hair Stylist responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Cutting hair using basic and advanced techniques, perms, roller sets, pedicures and manicures. If you have experience doing hair for seniors OR if you are interested in providing this service for the senior population, we would love to meet you

Monday to Friday (?)
Rent: $300 Month
Skills:
Proven work experience as a Beautician, Cosmetologist, Barber or similar position
Previous experience working with senior's hair is a plus
Knowledge of beauty products and trends
Ability to provide personalized service based on each resident
We have a salon equipped with one wash and a work styling station, two hair dryers just waiting for the right person to take this opportunity.
Our older generation clientele needs weekly cuts, shampoos, perms, color and styling along with manicures, pedicures.
Maintains a clean, neat, comfortable, and safe environment for residents, team members, and visitors
Disinfects all tools used between Residents and at the end of the day.
Knows and follows Emergency Procedures
Responsible for keeping resident information confidential; respecting resident rights; and respecting privacy
Work experience as a Hair Stylist, Hairdresser, Colorist or similar role
Proficiency in hair straightening and curling methods, using hot irons and curlers
Hands-on experience with various coloring techniques
Knowledge of a wide range of haircut
Excellent communication skills
Reports to Administrator/Communicate Well
Physical stamina to stand for long hours
Flexibility to work in shifts
Reports any unusual conditions to staff
Maintains daily record keeping
Provides Services available as medically appropriate
Licensing and Permits are required.
Must obtain a current license as a Cosmetologist, Barber, or Beautician
Must provide a high level of customer service
Must have a working knowledge of sanitization standards for the beauty industry
Must meet requirements imposed by the licensing authorities
