KiwiFab is currently seeking an experienced Site Installer - Welder/Fabricator-Fitter

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A HIGHLY SKILLED AND EXPERIENCED

SITE INSTALLER - FABRICATOR

We are a family owned and operated architectural and structural steel fabricator. Specialized in top quality commercial structural steel, railings, awnings and decking. We primarily work with steel and occasionally aluminum.

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Eugene, OR

Compensation: $18.00 to $22.00 HR (DOE)

Benefits: (After Probationary Period) Medical and Retirement (with company match)

Experience:

• Welding/Fabrication/Install: 3 years (Required)

• Lift 50lbs

• MIG & Stick Welding

• Dual Shield (hard wire & outer shield) Assembly

• Welder-Fitter

• Overhead and Jib Crane

• Fork Lift.

License or Certification:

• AWS Certificate (Required)

• Driver's License (Required)

Education:

• High School or General Education Degree (GED) (Required)

Language:

• English (Required)

Scope:

This position routinely works with minimal supervision taking instruction from specifications, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and other documentation. This position works both independently and as part of a team. The ability to communicate effectively and respectfully is essential in this role.

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:

• Candidate must be reliable, dependable, organized and adaptable.

• Maintain positive, cooperative working relationships by working, acting, and communicating with various personalities,

communicating effectively with customers, vendors, co-workers and management.

• Candidate must be self-driven, proficient in math, have a great understanding of blueprints, is quick with a tape measure and

accountable for work completed.

• Candidate mush display leadership working as a team, troubleshooting, coordinating and laying out work and

fabricating/welding multi-component parts prior to assembly.

• Ability to interpret and comply with WPS "Weld Procedure Specifications"

• Produce high quality welds using FCAW and SMAW welding processes.

• Must have current weld certs, welding hood and steel toed boots.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Shop and site fabrication.

• Fit and weld steel components.

• Site cutting and rigging of structural and architectural metals.

• Read, accurately follow, and translate all blueprints and production drawings.

• Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders and/or verbal

instructions.

• Perform welding & fabrication of parts and assemblies to meet established quality standards, production procedures and

efficiency expectations.

• Work includes set-up, laying out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products.

• Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.

• Inspect equipment to maintain optimal functionality.

• Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the jobs needs.

• Recognize and resolve any unsafe working conditions.

• Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary by Department or Shift Lead.
