Walsh Trucking Co. is a family owned and operated business for 65 years, and is the leader in the wood residuals and solid waste refuse transportation industry! We are hiring for day shift and swing shift positions as a Truck and Trailer Mechanic at our shop in Eugene, OR. Join our team!
DAY SHIFT: Tuesday- Saturday, 8:00 am-4:30 PM
SWING SHIFT: Monday-Friday, 2:30 - 11:00 PM
Key responsibilities
o Communicating with the Service Manager to set goals and understand needs
o Performing preventative maintenance and major repairs on Trucks and trailers
o The ability to work independently with little oversight
o The knowledge required to make decisions on equipment repairs and safe work practices
o Knowledge of air brake systems
o The ability to diagnose electrical problems/ Utilize diagnostic tools
o The ability to repair and replace tires as needed
o Provide own set of tools
o Fill out parts requests and repair orders
o Understanding of air ride suspension
o Any welding experience is a plus
Qualifications
o 1-5 years’ experience in the industry or equivalent schooling
o High school diploma or GED
