Mountain Rose Herbs IT is in need of a Front End Web Developer. This is a full time position. This position is responsible for design and development of front-end web systems for customer facing website, mobile applications, and internal web tools. The successful candidate will work closely with our back-end web development team, creative and marketing team, and internal IT team to create innovative solutions to web design issues to help make the web-based applications more visually appealing, responsive, and enhance usability.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
⢠Applicant must have the ability to perform accurate work with a strong attention to detail
⢠Applicant is expected to have the ability to perform accurate record keeping and data entry skills, strong typing and computer skills, and have legible handwriting
⢠Applicant must have the ability to communicate competently with the IT Manager and other team members
⢠Applicant must have the ability to communicate with end users of all levels of technological ability in a professional and helpful manner
⢠Technical writing skills used to document system and application configuration and procedures desired
⢠Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
⢠Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
⢠Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks
⢠Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
⢠Proficient understanding of responsive and adaptive design
⢠Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
⢠Understanding of Ruby language and Ruby on Rails platform a plus
⢠Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that applications will adhere to them
⢠Good understanding of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager applications
⢠Strong interpersonal skills and patience
⢠Organizational, problem solving, and time-management skills
⢠The ability to work independently and without direct supervision on a regular basis
⢠High standard of professional integrity and honesty both on and off-site, and to maintain the confidentiality of Mountain Rose Herbs, as well as its employees
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Dependability: is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback for improved performance
2. Willingness to learn and perform new procedures, equipment, and technologies
3. Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with Creative, Marketing, and Operations teams
4. Illustrate design ideas to functional teams
5. Develop new user-facing features
6. Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
7. Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
8. Production, modification, and maintenance of websites and web application user interfaces
9. Create design documentation, implementation plans, and usage analysis documentation
10. GitHub System Management
11. Work with Back End Development teams as necessary
12. Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
⢠Lifting up to 50 pounds or more
⢠Pushing a mobile cart
⢠Working in a fast pace environment
⢠Exposure to herb dust and strong aromatics
⢠Eyesight to see the screen and read small fonts and numbers for an extended period
⢠Dexterity to hook up fine wiring and plug-ins
⢠Sitting for long periods at a computer station
⢠Extensive walking, stair climbing, bending, crawling, heights, and working in tight spaces
Equipment used includes but not limited to:
⢠Computer
⢠Software: MS Office 365, MS Windows 10, GitHub, Web Development Tools, Cloud Hosting Service (AWS, Azure, etc.) familiarity desirable
⢠Printer / scanner / Fax
⢠Filing equipment
