The Highway 58 Herald is an online, 24/7, news and information platform that covers the communities along the OR Hwy58 corridor. The Herald focus in on hyper-local news and information relevant to our readership. We are seeking a part-time journalist. Applicants must have reliable transportation. Approved travel and expenses will be reimbursed. The Herald will work with student's schedules, as necessary. The successful candidate
researches, gathers, and reports information on news stories. Their duties include, but are not limited to:
Identifying, verifying, and reporting on events by traveling to locations and covering major developments.
Researching specific stories, developing sources and contacts, and conducting in-person interviews.
Collaborating with colleagues, pitching story ideas to the editor, and meeting deadlines to produce news content for publication or broadcast.
Arranging interviews, writing assignments, investigating breaking news stories, and verifying details.
Pay commensurate with experience.
