Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Department: Construction

Location: Central Oregon

Wage: Top Wages in Central Oregon

Summary: Responsible for the testing of a variety of construction materials in the field and aggregate pits.

To perform this job successfully for Taylor Northwest, an individual must be able to:

• Sample and test construction materials in the field and aggregate pits to measure their properties for compliance with the appropriate agency or internal specifications

• Perform required testing at various points throughout TNW projects

• Comply with testing and reporting requirements of the appropriate agency or internal procedures

• Recognize changes in material appearance, gradation, or other properties and communicate to appropriate personnel in a timely manner

• Report test results to appropriate personnel, or agencies and clients when requested

• Maintain laboratory and equipment in clean, organized and operable condition

• Possess basic math skills, and be familiar with fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, rates, conversions, etc.

• Be familiar with computer spreadsheets

• Regularly lift a minimum of 50 pounds

• Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers and/or co-workers

• Maintain Satisfactory Attendance

• Present with cleanliness, punctuality and a pleasant attitude

• Maintain health, a safe working environment and observe all safety laws, policies and rules

• Work overtime when needed

• Willing to travel if required

• Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.

• Be quality & production oriented

• Pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen

• Possess a valid current Driver’s License

• Previous Jobs & References Required

Experience:

• Aggregate or other material testing experience is preferred, but not necessarily required

• Knowledge and understanding of AASHTO, ASTM, and ODOT specifications is preferred, but not necessarily required

• Basic knowledge and understanding of heavy construction materials, operations and principles

Ideal candidate would currently possess or be willing to obtain one or more of the following certifications:

• ODOT CAGT (Certified Aggregate Technician)

• ODOT CEBT (Certified Embankment Technician)

• ODOT CDT (Certified Density Technician)

• ODOT CAT-1 (Certified Asphalt Technician I)

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED
