Food Service Workers Needed!

Available Shifts:

7:30am- 2:30 pm

8am- 2pm

9:30am- 1:30 pm

The customer is a public institution and a federal background check is required, in addition to the following qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).

Thorough working knowledge of Food Service work, including the ability to operate all kitchen

equipment equivalent to that gained in one year of experience. Previous experience working in

Food Service positions preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: Works well with others from diverse backgrounds. Ability to interact with

students and staff appropriately. Creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for students and

staff.

Language Skills: Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in English. Ability to

read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and

procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using

whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

Ability to handle small amounts of money and account for monies received.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions

furnished in written, oral, schedule or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several

variables in a variety of situations.

Computer Skills: General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use e-mail, database,

spreadsheets and word processing software. Ability to use nutrition services software.

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to appropriately communicate with students, teachers,

administrators, parents and members of the community.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certificates as determined by the District and federal

guidelines including a valid Oregon Driver’s license, a valid Oregon Food Handler card and

CPR/First Aid card as required.

The following is a description of typical duties you will need to perform. Other tasks may be required as determined by management:

1. Assists in the preparation of school meals, to include participating in the planning, cutting,

cooking and preparation of food items.

2. Assists in set up of serving lines and serving of food.

3. Measures accurate food temperatures.

4. Maintains a safe and clean work area.

5. Adjusts to changes in food production and handles other tasks as assigned.

6. Washes dishes and operates automatic kitchen equipment maintaining sanitary specifications.

7. Accurately sets-up and stores equipment used to serve food.

8. Shuts off, breaks down, and sanitizes designated areas and items.

9. Rotates and stocks food on delivery days.

10. Knows and follows all safety and sanitary rules and regulations related to food handling.

11. Maintains a high standard of personal cleanliness and good grooming as per sanitation code and

12. Deposits money into student accounts; take lunch tickets; run milk, lunch and deposit reports and

totals and maintain records as required electronically and in printed format.

13. Assists in the maintenance of quality and portion control of food served.
