JOB DESCRIPTION:
Supervises and coordinates the activities of 2 to 15 employees in meat area. Will interview and hire applicants, order product and supplies. Employee will maintain all paperwork and bookkeeping. Employee will also do a variety of meat cutting and wrapping duties including using meat saw, slicer, grinder, tenderizer, wrapping and weight equipment, stocking shelves and cases, serving customers by obtaining orders, may receive money and make change and do general cleaning, if needed. Employee may work in refrigerated area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Excellent Customer Service Skills
Report to Store Manager regularly
Cut and trim meat, poultry and fish to size
Follow all company policies and procedures for maintaining inventory in Department
Use basic math to measure and estimate material quantities
Attention to detail
Ability to hire, train, support and encourage other employees
Keep work station clean and sanitary
Lift and handle bulky materials and products
Complies with company safety guidelines and standards
Assigns schedules and supervises staff to meet merchandising and productions plans
Ensures that reports and requested forms are adequate and submitted properly
Plans and controls the flow of product
Insures that all safety guidelines and procedures are followed
Required to meet or exceed budgeted sales, wage and profit objectives and operating
standards for quality control, merchandising, sales promotion and customer service
Weigh, wrap and price merchandise
Stock display cases
Take customer orders
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described below are those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions for this job:
Work in a standing position for up to 8 hours a day
Use hands, arms, and fingers to handle tools or operate power equipment
Lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis, up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis, and up to 75 pounds occasionally
Carry up to 10 pounds on a regular basis for a distance of 50', up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis for a distance of 10 feet, and up to 75 pounds for a distance of 10 feet occasionally
Push up to 100 pounds for a distance of 50 feet
Pull up to 50 pounds for a distance of 50 feet
Stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl
May be required to use ladders and/or stairs
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
An employee may encounter certain work environment characteristics while performing the essential functions of this position. They may include but are not limited to:
Extreme cold
Wet or humid conditions
Slippery surfaces

High noise level
