Awen Winecraft is a boutique winery located in Southern Oregon AVA. We produce small lots of award winning wines with an overarching style that is smooth and balanced. We believe that wine should be accessible to everyone and we aim to create an inclusive and welcoming environment at our tasting room. We consider ourselves approachable, friendly, knowledgeable about wines, and are seeking an experienced Tasting Room Server to embody these characteristics in our daily operations.
The right person will have a passion for wine that is contagious, a curiosity to always seek wine knowledge, become an expert on our wines, embody our brand & culture, and possess a servant’s heart. Our future tasting room servers will look to make genuine connections with our guests, eventually greeting regulars by name creating real relationships that are more than transactional. The right person will provide excellent table service to everyone that comes to our tasting room making each person feel important and welcomed.
Job Description:
Oversee the daily tasting room operations
Greet all guests and pour wines
Create a consistent, positive experience
Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of our wines
Educate interested customers about our wines, our story, and embody our culture
Educate interested customers about Southern Oregon AVA and what makes us special
Effectively suggest and sell wine & club memberships
Assist customers with transporting wine to their vehicles when needed
Answer all visitor questions and provide general tourist information
Positive and thoughtful execution of winery events in collaboration with Event Coordinator
Participate in both on-site and off-site events as needed
Maintain Daily Checklists
Maintain Cleanliness of Tasting Room & Patio before opening and after each guest
Daily Reporting of Sales and Reconciliation
Become an expert with our POS
Solve Problems that arise with grace
Be willing and able to assist with other tasks as assigned
Be collaborative and open to building our business
Report and maintain good relationships with all owners
Hours and Compensation:
Wednesday -Thursday: 2:00-8:30, Friday - 2:00-10:30, Saturday: 11:00-8:30 Sunday: 11:00-6:30 with the flexibility to stay later if we are busy, have an event or have customer’s finishing up.
$15-$20 per hour with OT as approved by management
100% of tips earned (Unless working with a teammate for wine club pick up parties, special events or private parties)
$20 Bonus for each new wine club sign up
Qualifications:
Minimum of two, recent years experience in a tasting room or wine related position
Must have a passion for wine
Knowledge of wine and thirst to learn more
Proficient and or familiar with POS systems and willing to self-study to become an expert
Knowledge of tasting rooms and wine regions inside and outside of the Southern Oregon AVA
Professional appearance and demeanor
Warm and friendly, outgoing and trustworthy
Deep understanding and compliance with all OLCC rules and regulations
General math skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Excellent customer service and ability to connect with people of all ages and all walks of life
Ability to resolve conflict and solve problems with customers and co-workers

Open to working on-site special events after hours if needed
Open to working other special events off-property when needed
Physical Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be able to lift up to 40-50 pounds
Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for the duration of each shift
Must be sober during all scheduled shifts
