Guest Services Associate
PT Temporary position - 12 weeks; may lead into permanent part/time
Palm Motel and Cottages in Ashland, OR is seeking guest services associates to join our team. We are located on 1065 Siskiyou Blvd. Please, no walk ins.
The Guest Services Associate accommodates guests by registering and assigning rooms, issuing room keys or codes, transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms, and guests’ accounts, making and confirming reservations, and presenting statements as well as collecting payments from guests as well as offering concierge services.
Our ideal candidate is pleasant and outgoing, can work with minimal supervision, is responsible and has a passion for hospitality. This position is part time 22-30 hours per week; weekends and holidays may be required.
Responsibilities
Register arriving guests, assign rooms, and check out guests at the end of their stay.
Answer phones and field calls.
Make reservations from the internet and by phone and keep records of assignments and other registration-related information on the computer using the property management system.
Perform night audit as dictated by the property management system and accounting for property.
Keep records of assignments and other registration-related information on the computer using the property management system.
Process and explain the charges and process payments as well as our cancellation policy.
Make reservations from the internet and by phone.
Report problems with guest rooms and public facilities to the Daily Operations Manager.
Answer questions about services, checkout times, the local community, or other matters of public interest.
Deliver items to guests’ rooms.
Input data into the motel’s property management system.
Provide luggage service when needed.
Assist with laundry, as needed
Additional duties include but are not limited to the following:
· Performing a perimeter check on the premises
· Securing entrances and exits

Ability to understand and carry out instructions

Ability to be welcoming and courteous to guests, coworkers and vendors
Must be organized and able to multitask
Ability to remain cheerful under stress
Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times
Good communication skills
Basic math and reading skills
Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
Previous related work experience
High school diploma or GED
Required Certifications/Testing:
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Work requires occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling with minimal stair climbing
Work requires occasional contact with cleaning chemicals
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
Up to 90% of work is performed indoors, in all season temperatures
