The United States Pretrial Services Office for the District of Oregon is accepting applications for United States Pretrial Services Officer for the Medford office. By statute, Pretrial Services Officers serve in a judiciary law enforcement position and assist in the administration of justice and promote community safety, gather information, supervise defendants, interact with collateral agencies, prepare reports, conduct investigations, and present recommendations to the Court. The Pretrial Services Officer, as a pretrial release investigator and supervision officer, is responsible for providing meaningful assistance to the U.S. District Court in its deliberations and decisions concerning pretrial release of defendants accused of violating federal statutes, and for ensuring public safety through the monitoring and supervision of defendants placed under supervision by the Court. Pretrial Services Officers may guide the work of Pretrial Officer Assistants and other staff. This position is classified at a CL 25 to a CL 28 ($44,528 - $100,739) depending upon the qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate.
