Southern Oregon Dental is expanding its team! We are a privately owned practice and see patients 6 days a week. Currently we are looking for a dental assistant to join us Monday-Friday. The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures and help provide quality patient care. An x-ray license is required and EFDA certification is preferred. All qualified candidates will be considered. Compensation will reflect experience and certification.
Duties:
-Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Prepare patients for dental procedures
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Assist dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs
- Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral healthcare
- Take dental X-rays
- Maintain accurate patient records
Requirements:
- Ability to assist with X-Rays
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform basic computer tasks
- Certification in Dental Assisting is a plus
Skills:
- Proficiency in infection control procedures
- Familiarity with medical records management
- Experience as a Dental Receptionist is advantageous
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations
- Proficiency in dental assisting procedures
- Familiarity with dental terminology
Our office is open Monday-Saturday and we are looking for a full time assistant Monday-Friday. We see patients between the hours of 8am and 5pm. Assistant working hours are typically 7:30am-closing time which can vary (normally we complete closing procedures by 5:15pm).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
