Job Summary:
Southern Oregon Dental is expanding its team! We are a privately owned practice that sees patients 6 days a week. Currently we are looking for an enthusiastic, people person to train as a dental assistant. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working with patients and be is a quick learner and motivated trainee. Experience is not required, but this position will require enrollment to obtain an x-ray license for future.
Training will include:
-Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Prepare patients for dental procedures
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Assist dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs
- Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral healthcare
- Take dental X-rays
- Maintain accurate patient records
-Communicate effectively and clearly with patients regarding treatment plans and options
Other skills to learn:
- Proficiency in infection control procedures
- Familiarity with medical records management
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations
- Proficiency in dental assisting procedures
- Familiarity with dental terminology
Our office is open Monday-Saturday and we are looking for both a full-time assistant and part time assistant. We see patients between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5pm on Fridays, and 9am-2pm on Saturdays. Assistant working hours typically start 30 minutes prior to opening to set up operatories and sterilization room and end once all closing procedures are complete. The office is closed the first Saturday of each month.
