Horton Plaza is an active living retirement community that is currently hiring for a Full-Time Executive Chef. This position is a full-time, salaried, supervisory position that requires 40 hours per week including holidays. We serve our residents three delicious meals a day in our restaurant-style dining room that is open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Executive Chef assumes overall responsibility for the Kitchen Department. The Executive Chef directly manages about 8 employees, including scheduling, hiring, interviewing, teaching, training and evaluations. The Executive Chef is responsible for designing the weekly and seasonal menus, quality control, resident satisfaction, labor costs, food costs, ordering, inventory, budget and overall sanitation and regulatory guidelines within the kitchen.
Qualifications
Strong background in inventory management, food preparation, and kitchen management
Proven experience in food service management and catering
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Banquet and fine dining experience preferred
Ability to supervise and lead a team effectively
Bartending skills a plus for versatile service capabilities
