Greetings. My mother has advanced dementia and has lived in memory care for 3 years now, she is 89 years young. She was a flight attendant for 40 years and was very personable and outgoing. Her personality has changed quite a bit though and she is on meds to calm her new moods of anxiety and some anger. I have recently been introduced to X39 patches (past six weeks or so) which have helped her tremendously. Her personality is coming back which I am super excited about.
I built an adorable tiny home and moved her to my property last week. The tiny home is 32' long and 12' wide (just under 400 sq. feet), all one open space with a small wall/divider and lofts on each end. I just ordered ceiling curtains for the toilet for privacy. Everything is light, bright, cheerful, brand new and beautiful. The caregiver will be living in this tiny home with my mom, there are two beds, one at each end.
My mom has had 3 caregivers over the years, one was with her for 3 years, she was amazing, the other two were with her for over a year, also wonderful. I am looking for someone that needs a place to live and is kind, patient, honest, trustworthy, responsible, mature and cares to help me take care of my mother. If you have a well behaved child or dog, they would definitely be considered.
Dementia is not a bed of roses. For the most part, she is mild mannered and content, sleeps a lot. She is Hispanic and it would be wonderful if you are Hispanic or speak Spanish (and please speak English as my Spanish is limited). My mom likes to keep the house warm - 75 degrees + and she likes to listen to jazz music.
Duties include meal prep and feeding, giving meds, personal hygiene & toileting; she is becoming incontinent with urine; wears disposable briefs, dressing, bathing, laundry/clean, dishes, etc. Free room and board (includes; water, sewer, trash, electricity) plus $1,500/month.
No Smoking / No Drugs. I live a very peaceful, healthy and clean lifestyle as does my mother.
