We are a small-scale certified organic farm producing high-quality mixed vegetables for fresh market. We are currently looking to fill one full-time (40 hrs./week), year-round field worker position, and one part time (20 hrs. per week) year-round field worker position.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to transplanting, weeding, harvesting, and washing mixed vegetable crops for fresh market. Staff members continually get cross-trained in various aspects of the farm’s production. We are looking to attract self-motivated people that have an interest in taking pride and responsibility in their work at Barking Moon, and for those individuals, there is a great deal of room to grow within our company. We enjoy rewarding those who go above and beyond to help keep our business thriving! Work continues in all types of weather and through fire season.
Eligible applicants will be hardworking, punctual, reliable, respectful, honest, able to carry out tasks both on their own and in a group setting, bring a positive attitude, and have a strong passion for organic vegetable production. Applicants with experience in manual labor, using hand and power tools, and driving large pickup trucks/box trucks with manual transmission will be given special consideration. Please be capable of repeatedly lifting 40 lbs. Strong consideration will be given to applicants with at least one year experience in commercial organic vegetable production. Starting compensation includes $15.00 - $25.00/hr. (DOE), farm derived produce, and paid vacation time.
