Hilton Fuel and Supply has an immediate opening for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. When you join our team, you join a local, long standing, family business.
We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic primarily responsible for performing major servicing and repairs on a variety of mechanical, electrical, electronic, power-train, and hydraulic systems for heavy trucks and excavation equipment. Work is performed in a shop and/or outside in all weather conditions.
Mechanic Duties:
Diagnose and repair all types of gas and diesel equipment, including, but not limited to, excavators, dozers,
haul trucks, wheel loaders, water and lube trucks, service trucks, pickups, and other support equipment.
Troubleshoot, repair and/or replace ignition, fuel, hydraulic, lighting, electrical/computer control systems.
Repair/rebuild engines, transmissions, differentials, hydraulic cylinders, axle groups, etc.
Make emergency field repair to onsite equipment and trucks as necessary.
Safely perform repairs in the field during inclement weather and conditions.
Experience in Welding and Fabrication.
Knowledge of industrial and shop safety rules, procedures, and equipment.
Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment to test and troubleshoot for proper operation before and after
maintenance.
Conduct safety checks on equipment.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with company OSHA standards.

Ability to:
Understand and carry out oral and written instruction.
Install, replace, or adjust filters, belts, or similar objects to maintain equipment.
Move heavy objects (50 pounds or more).
Work outside in the heat, cold and wet environments.
Climb safely on and off heavy equipment.
Individuals must be physically capable of operating equipment and vehicles safely, possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and have an acceptable driving record. Pre-employment drug testing is required for CDL positions.
