General Purpose of Job
To manufacture and produce quality fertilizer products as directed, through established procedures and approved processes; handle incoming, binned, and outgoing fertilizer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Stack bagged fertilizer
Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks
Make periodic inspections of all stored fertilizer
Make inspections of stored grain as requested by Fertilizer Agronomist
Be familiar with manufacturing processes and procedures
Ensure floor organization and plant cleanliness
Ensure floor stocking levels are met
Assist or fill in for machine operators when necessary
Greet customers promptly and courteously with a friendly smile, say hello, and thank them for their business
Assist customers with unloading and loading of fertilizer
Attend meetings as requested
Uphold all cooperative policies and procedures
Perform other tasks and duties as requested by the Feed Production Supervisor, Feed Elevator Manager, or Feed Operations Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
One to three months related experience and/or training; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
