Williams Creek Ranch is looking for a motivated individual who enjoys working with horses and who is ready to put forward a professional energized attitude. This is not a live on ranch situation. Person must be extremely reliable with an agreed schedule as last-minute changes are not possible. We are a premier horse boarding facility that provides the highest level of care.
This position will require shift work and weekends.
An initial training and shadowing, possibly a period of 1-3 weeks depending on experience, is required.
JOB DUTIES
Feeding horses, rinsing and fill water buckets. Monitoring of water and hay intake.
Mucking out (cleaning) stalls and provide bedding.
Cleaning of stable common areas by sweeping and raking, performing minor repairs on fixtures. Ability to perform minor repairs.
Turning horses in and out to pasture and paddocks per regular schedules.
Observe and report any signs of sickness or injury of horses.
Operating farm equipment.
Moving pipes during pasture irrigating season.
Perform other general labor, including mowing and weed whacking, brush cutting, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a valid driver's license.
Drug-free workplace. We operate farm equipment and handle horses, no exceptions.
Ability to lift and carry items of about 50lbs to 100lbs (hay-bales, etc.) into carts.
Pass a background check.
Horse handling experience is highly preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
