Summary:
Varney Manufacturing is a fast paced machine shop with ever changing priorities. You must have a strong work ethic and a positive attitude that can work with and contribute to our team. This position is responsible for operating CNC milling machines, and other shop peripheral equipment to make precision machined parts, and tools to exact tolerances and dimensions. The operator should have the knowledge to set up tooling and load programs. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications. Uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds. Most machines are numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or Quality System control procedures.
Requirements:
Understanding of CNC type machines and the processes they use, such as set-ups, monitoring, change-outs, etc.
Follow company policy
Know how to maintain a clean and orderly work area
Blueprint reading and basic math skills
Good manual dexterity
Follow all safety rules and quality standards
Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others
Basic English language skills and ability to read, follow, and interpret work instructions
Must be reliable and be able to work in a drug free environment
