The Behavior Professional will work with people with co-occurring I/DD/Mental Health diagnoses in Jackson & Josephine Counties. They will work on developing behavioral support documents in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules and principles of positive behavioral support, development and implementation of presentation material, associated research, presentation development, and providing specialized training for staff and people supported.

Annualized salary of $50,400. Salary payments are made bi-weekly ($1,938) every other Friday (approx. $4,200/month).
Education and Experience Requirements (must meet one of the three (3) scenarios below):
Degrees that Qualify: Bachelor of Arts or Science in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Education, Social Work or other social or behavioral sciences.
-BCBA graduate-level certification/ Master's Degree and one (1) year of experience providing Positive Behavior Supports
OR
-Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of experience providing Positive Behavior Supports
OR
-No Qualifying Degree and six (6) years of experience providing Professional Behavioral Supports gained prior to January 1st, 2023.
-If an applicant does not meet one of the above three (3) scenarios and is within 12 - 18 months of meeting them, they can apply to be hired as a BHAC Apprentice.
-To qualify for the apprentice position, the applicant must meet the experience requirements and be within one year of finishing their degree or meet the degree requirements and be within one year of meeting the experience requirement. The BHAC-Apprentice position is a full-time hourly position at $21.92/hour (approx. $3,800/month).
BHAC-Apprentice will be expected to continue actively working towards becoming a fully qualified BHAC.
General Requirements:
-Must be at least 18 years old when employment begins.
-Pass a State/Federal Criminal History Check.
-Background screening, including employment and education history.
-Pre-employment drug screening (for the use of illegal substances in Oregon).
-Valid Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
-Be certified and maintain first aid/CPR certification within 60 days of hire.
-Be certified and maintain the Oregon Intervention System (OIS) certification within 60 days of hire.
-Pass a pre-employment computer skills assessment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
-Model the appropriate way to support and communicate with the people we support, regardless of behavioral reactions by the person.
-Have a firm understanding of Positive Behavioral Support and Behavioral Theory.
-Managing a caseload with the responsibility of creating and maintaining Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs).
-Must be responsible for keeping track of billable hours.
-Be knowledgeable of and uphold Oregon Administrative Rules regarding behavior, safeguarding interventions or equipment, protective physical interventions, and Oregon Intervention Systems.
-Maintain a physical presence in the homes of all supported people on your caseload.
-Achieve and maintain certification as an OIS “Agency” Trainer and complete all accompanying responsibilities.
-Participate in PCL's New Employee Orientation as a trainer.
-Participate in an on-call rotation for their assigned area. On a regular rotation, this position is on-call for their assigned area for seven (7) consecutive days. The on-call schedule is posted eight (8) weeks in advance.
